Fanshawe College Graduation Photos: A Planning Guide

Short answer: book your Fanshawe College graduation session for a different day than convocation, shoot downtown London in the hour before sunset, and bring your gown, a bouquet and a second outfit. Downtown gives you brick walls, markets and wide streets within a short walk.

Fanshawe's convocation ceremonies in London have been held at Canada Life Place on Dundas Street, so many graduates finish the ceremony only a few steps from downtown's best backdrops. Convocation day itself is busy, though, and for relaxed portraits a separate session is easier.

Where should you take Fanshawe graduation photos?

Around Covent Garden Market

The market and the streets around it give you brick, signage and colour in the middle of the city. It is a reliable setting for a gown-and-flowers portrait that still looks like London.

Downtown streets and brick walls

Plain brick walls are underrated: they put all the attention on you and your gown. Candid frames walking across a quiet street, flowers in hand, tend to be the ones families print.

Dundas Place

Dundas Place is the pedestrian-friendly stretch near Canada Life Place. It is useful if you want a photo close to where your ceremony took place.

When should you book?

  • Convocation season fills up fast — ask about dates a few weeks ahead.
  • A weekday afternoon is quieter than a weekend downtown.
  • If you only have time on ceremony day, aim for the late-afternoon ceremonies and shoot straight afterwards while you are still dressed up.

What should you bring?

  • Your gown and hood, pressed or steamed the day before.
  • A bouquet — two smaller ones photograph beautifully if you want to share with someone.
  • A second outfit that feels like you for a more relaxed set.
  • Comfortable shoes for walking between locations.

A graduation session with Larah starts at $300 CAD and includes 1–2 hours, 15+ edited high-resolution images and the full originals. See the Service page for packages, or get in touch to check availability. You might also like graduation photos at Western University.
